Spain's 'Le Meca' Nightclub Changes its Name After Receiving Threats from Muslim Extremists

Who would have thought a nightclub would be the target of threats and violence by Muslim extremists all because of a name? After receiving Jihadist threats owners of 'Le Meca'(Spanish for Mecca) announced that they would change the name of the nightclub. It doesn't stop with the name, to further appease the extremists the owners have agreed to remove a fake minaret and a half moon symbol.

The threats published on the internet included a video on Youtube which called on the Arab world to boycott Spain because of the presence of a nightclub with the Mecca name. The nightclub's webpage was also hacked after the popular nightclub reopened on August 18 after being closed for 20 years. The owners have now started a competition to look for a new name for the nightclub.

Do you think the nightclub owners were sensible in changing its name? Isn't this sending a wrong message to the world that threats and intimidation actually works?
