Some joker at popular nightclub 'Muzique' in Montreal thought it hilarious, to send out an invite for one of their events with a little sign off saying "No Fat Girls Allowed !!!!!!!!!! :)".

As expected, no one saw the funny side of it and the invite has become highly controversial. Club owners have been quick to deny their involvement in the whole affair saying it wasn't their idea and blamed it on a party planner for the event. However they are willing to apologize for the rude invite.

Many of the "plus-sized" patrons of the club were shocked at the discrimination based on weight and said they wouldn't visit the nightclub again.

This whole issue has started a debate on weight discrimination with questions like: What's wrong in being healthy? Shouldn't plus-size people be asked to loose weight? Why can't they get in better shape instead of criticizing others for not accepting their weight?

What's worse is the invite is also being dubbed sexist because it doesn't say 'no fat people allowed' but 'no fat girls allowed'. Does our society judge girls on a higher beauty standard?
