Everyone has heard of the World Cup, but have you heard of the Cocktail World Cup? NYU grad Sean Hoard sure has! His latest creation, the Wellington Fizz, just landed him a spot on Team USA for the 42BELOW Cocktail World Cup. Yup, this is a competition for bartenders.

Hoard beat thousands of other applicants before landing a position at the Cup, held in New Zealand. Originally Hoard came to NYU to study music business, but then he pulled some shifts at the bar, learned the ropes, listened to customers, and created the vodka drink that would land him the spot. Hoard proved that with a little bit of dedication, you just might uncover your hidden talent.

His Fizz needs 2 oz. of 42BELOW kiwi vodka, ¾ oz. lime juice, ½ oz. orgeat, ½ oz. passionfruit puree, 1 oz. heavy cream, 1 egg white, and club soda. Take all your ingredients, minus the club soda, and shake well with ice. Then strain the mixture into a Collins glass and add the club soda. You can even put a slice of sun-dried kiwi at the top to add a decorative color to the cocktail.

Now the winning drink is ready to serve!
