The Trendy NYC nightclub, Duvet, which we featured on the EventOrb Blog a while ago has closed it's doors. The New York State Liquor Authority is closing down the Chelsea venue,following allegations that an ex-con bouncer raped a young, femaleclubgoer in one of its bathroom stalls. The alleged victim -- a 23 year old woman says she was "incapacitated" in a stall as the club wasclosing at 4 a.m. When the bouncer called out to ask if anyone was inthe restroom, she cried for help. Instead of providing assistance, she sayshe raped her. The woman was later taken to a hospital by her fiancé and police were called.
Sources say the bouncer, Hunter Dupree has served more than three years in prison on a weapons charge and thus should have never been cleared to work as a bouncer.
