It's everyone's worst nightmare. You're piss drunk and engaging in every kind of debauchery this side of Sodom and Gomorrah when unbeknownst to you, you cross the line in one way or another only to have security wrap their arm around your neck like a boa constrictor. Besides the usual shock and awe that comes with being dragged out of a nightclub in this fashion, you feel a burden of shame weigh down on you and wonder if you'll ever be able to live it all down somehow. Well don't you worry about a thing because the fact is, it happens to the best of us, yes, even celebrities. Here are a few ways even celebrities can get stiff armed in a nightclub.
- Underage Drinking If you’re like 19-year old, Hayden Panettiere, sneaking into the NV Lounge, north of Manhattan, in January and then ordering a drink at the bar will get you busted, especially when the bartender asks for your real ID.
- Disrespecting the bouncer You'd figure Sacramento Kings 6'7" star Ron Artest would appreciate a solid defense, but the NBA star was a little perturbed when a bouncer shut down the baller on his way into Villa nightclub in January. Rejected!
- Don’t tase m’lady, bro Brody Jenner got into a fight at Hollywood’s, Guys and Dolls, with Girls Gone Wild's, Joe Francis, in August over Brody’s girlfriend, 2008 Playmate of the Year, Jayde Nicole. Brody stepped in to rescue Jayde from being allegedly slapped around. He was tasered and they were all ejected from the club. The police were called, but no arrests were made.
- Poking your nose into someone else’s fight Actor, Josh Brolin, was arrested briefly in July at a downtown Shreveport nightspot, The Stray Cat. Brolin interfered with police, a misdemeanor, when they were called in to break up a bar fight by another rowdy patron. He was booked & posted a $334 bond.
- Getting between the Irish and their liquor Rihanna's band and the band Boyzone engaged in a brawl at a Sydney, Australia, nightclub in mid-November 2008. The fight was said to have started after a Boyzone member engaged in conversation with a female member of Rihanna's band, resulting in a jealous boyfriend getting angry.
- Giving party animals their space to groove When you’ve slept with half of the soccer players in the English Premier League, it probably goes without saying that you like to party. So it was no surprise when model, Danielle Lloyd, the former Celebrity Big Brother contestant was at Crystal Nightclub in London's West End and felt crowded by two girls dancing on the back of a her sofa. She wound up being taken to the hospital for surgery after a brawl that left her covered in blood on the sidewalk.
- Skipping out on a bar tab Randy Quaid along with his wife, Evi, were arrested for allegedly skipping out on a $10,000 bill in Santa Monica in September (It didn’t help that the two had a warrant out for burglary).
- Allowing your celebratory mood to spill over Joaquin Phoenix, the Academy Award nominee turned rapper, took the stage at Miami’s LIV nightclub in March to perform three songs to an anxious and very curious crowd at South Beach. His anticipated 15 minute performance ended up being less than 1 as Phoenix quickly jumped into the crowd to take down a heckler. The brawl was broken up and Phoenix was asked to leave.
- Fighting over a Rockstar (especially if it’s someone like Tommy Lee) The rocker and his rumored gal pal, Kimberly Stewart, were at LA’s Hyde nightclub in September when Tommy’s ex, model Erin Naas, 23, showed up. The women made a go at it while Tommy stood by feeling the love. They were all asked to leave.
- Grabbing someone’s crotch (uninvited) Dressed all in pink gear and sparkles, Dennis Rodman partied at LIV Nightclub on Miami Beach in October. Rodman whispered something into another patron’s ear and she claims Rodman placed his hands between her legs and grabbed her crotch. Miami Beach police officers are investigating and no charges have been filed against Rodman at the time of this publication.
