The California-based MMA organization, Strikeforce, will have another event this Saturday, September 13, at the San Jose Civic Auditorium.
The event is entitled "Young Guns III" and the show will feature local fighters from around the Bay Area.
There are 11 fights scheduled on the card.
The main event is between Alvin Cacdac and Jose Palacios. It is an important match for both fighters since they both lost in the last Strikeforce event in San Jose a few months ago.
Palacios lost a controversial decision to Bobby Stack, and Cacdac lost to "Kid Lightning" Bryan Caraway in the first round due to a rear-naked choke.
Palacios trains out of Cung Le's gym. Le is currently the Strikeforce middleweight champion.
Here are the other fights scheduled for Saturday night -
Gabriel Solorio Vs. Evan Esguerra
Luke Rockhold Vs. Brandon Michaels
Andrew Valladerez Vs. David Barrios
Daniel Hernandez Vs. Ron Kesler
Jorge Interiano Vs. Chris Bostick
Yohan Banks Vs. David Ashkinaz
Adam Antolin Vs. Eric Castile
Justin Holdaas Vs. Jaime Rodriguez
Genaro Strangis Vs. Alexander Trivino
Mike Davis Vs. OJ Dominguez
Most of these fighters are very young, and don't have a lot of experience in the cage. A lot of the fighters have only a few fights under their belt.
Although the fighters are young, there are a lot of them who seem to be very promising. I think some of them have a very good future in MMA.
One of them is Gabriel Solorio. Solorio is only 19 years old and fights out of Turlock, California. Solorio is coming off a big win over Justin Hoglund at a Gladiator Challenge show in San Francisco in July.
Solorio's camp is called Team Voodoo and another member of the camp is Jorge Interiano. Interiano is a light heavyweight fighter with a 1-0 record.
Interiano did well in his debut at the last Strikeforce show by defeating Travis Johnson. Interiano won by TKO due to a doctor's stoppage right after the second round was over.
Another up-and-coming fighter is Alex Trivino. Trivino is 2-0 after defeating Eric Jacob by submission at the last Strikeforce show.
Trivino fights out of Frank Shamrock's Academy in San Jose.
The fights start at 7:00PM and tickets can be bought at the Civic Auditorium ticket office. Ticket prices range from $40 to $80.
