Another Nightclub Attack Courtesy of the Jersey Shore Cast

by Jerry Paige on May 14, 2010 02:47   19  Comments   Share

Jersey Shore's Sammi Sweetheart has just been accused of a nightclub attack in Miami on a 24-year-old woman named Kristen DeMinco.

DeMinco alleges that Giancola got fired up when she saw her(DeMinco) talking to her boyfriend, Ronnie Magro.

In all honesty Jersey-Shore-cast-related attacks are getting a bit boring lately. Besides, a cat fight between two girls, as was the case this time pales in comparison to Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi getting slugged out the frame in a bar.

In short, we expect a lot more from the cast as far as controversy is concerned. Can anyone say sex tape?

Brace Yourself Party People, The Geeks at MIT Bring you The I-Robot DJ

by Jerry Paige on May 11, 2010 02:25   4  Comments   Share

In some ways making geeks create a DJ robot is like making Mike Tyson teach ballet, but we are always pleasantly amused by geeky antics. Enter the DJ-I Robot Sound System the brain child of Chris Csikszentmihalyi -- assistant professor of Media Arts & Sciences at MIT.

The I-Robot uses a PC, several micro-controllers and an advanced 'motion control' system to automatically search, play and manipulate the vinyl records sitting on its turntables.

The I-Robot is a learning robot, which means that over the years it's been able to pick up new skills and amaze it's human counterparts.

Well, with all their hard work it's fair to assume that geeks don't hit the clubs too often, so might we suggest a few prime directives -- you know, like they gave robocop to keep him in check. More...

Elton John Concert in Egypt Cancelled After He Suggests that Jesus was Gay

by Jerry Paige on May 7, 2010 05:24   19  Comments   Share

It's a well known fact that the Middle East is one of the least gay-friedly travel destinations in the world. Infact in 2004 a college student was sentenced to 17 years in prison for posting a profile on a gay website.

So it's no wonder that an Elton John concert scheduled for May 18th as part of the singer's "I'm still standing" tour was cancelled after he gave an interview to Parade magazine in which he says "Jesus was a super-intelligent gay man".

Even though Egypt is a pre-dominantly Muslim country, Jesus is regarded as a prophet and Sir Elton's comments drew the ire of Egypt's Music Union, hence the concert cancellation. More...
