6 Steps to Creating a Successful Theme Party

by Walter Scott on March 9, 2010 11:07   0  Comments   Share
Organizing a themed party where you live or at one of your favorite venues is always a great way to do something different. Here are 6 useful tips for creating a successful theme party.

1. The theme
Keep in mind that creating a theme party is all about having loads of fun. Therefore, press your imagination button and think about a fun theme for your party. Code Red, Pirates of the Caribbean, True Blue, PuNksRnotDeAd, Wild Wild West, etc all sound like great party titles right? How about taking one of your favorite series or a current top movie hit and turning it into a party theme? There is no limit to creativity when it comes to the theme parties.

2. The season
When deciding the theme for your party, it is essential to consider the time of the year and the season. Wearing a flimsy costume if it’s minus 5 outside is not a very good idea.

3. The place
When choosing a venue to host the party, keep in mind that it needs to be easily accessible and have some parking place nearby. You don’t want your guests walking for miles through the crowd all dressed up. Also, if in example you choose a boat for venue to host your party, consider making a theme that will correspond to it such as “Pirates and Sailors”.

4. Costumes and dress codes
If you only have a dress code party it will be easy for your guests to dress up accordingly. However, if you plan a costume party, then make sure to give some ideas and suggestions to your guests on where to get the best costumes. Place those tips on your invitations.

5. Food and drinks
Food and drinks can be also based accordingly to your party color and theme.

6. Music
The choice of music is always important. It would be silly to make a “1920’s” costume party and then play some techno.

Last but not the least, don't forget to send them all invites from EventOrb to let them know about the party of a lifetime.

After the red carpet it is time to party! - Oscar 2010 after parties and gorgeous dresses

by Walter Scott on March 8, 2010 08:34   0  Comments   Share

After the traditional walk on the red carpet and all the winners are announced, the only thing left to do for all the guests of this year’s Academy Awards is to party! There were only two parties after this famous event, the AIDS Foundation party hosted by Elton John and Graydon Carter’s the annual Vanity Fair party.

Both parties attracted an equal number of glamorous celebrities and some of the new faces that were welcomed on the red carpet for the first time this year.

From many extravagant and fabulous outfits presented at the Academy Awards this year we could surely point out a few that caught the eyes of paparazzi.  Hillary Swank in an extravagant dress with an open décolleté, Salma Hayek in an astonishing mini dress with digital print, a masterpiece of the late Alexander McQueen, Natalie Portman looking young as always in a short grey dress, and Kate Bosworth showing her high class style with a bright pink dress. However, if there would be an Oscar for the most gorgeous dress it would surely fall into the hands of Victoria Beckham. Famous Posh wore a truly magical gown which presented her own, recently launched fashion label, and was spotted at Elton John’s Oscar after party.

Being at the spotlight, Paris was in a company of her parents, Kathy and Rick Hilton and Doug Reinhardt, her boyfriend. Can you guess what kind of shape her giant birthday cake had?

Shoe boxes! Isn’t that a surprise!

Paris attends most of the exclusive parties and is almost a daily headline in the gossip press. We can’t really say she minds it. During her birthday party her ex Brandon Davis arrived unexpectedly and the party turned into chaos as Doug Reinhardt got him thrown out, after a fight he had with Paris. Good thing is that Paris knows how to patch things up so by the end of the evening both she and Doug had a smile on their faces.
