Violet Flavored Spirits Are Experiencing Renaissance

by Walter Scott on May 6, 2010 08:30   5  Comments   Share

What do you think of when you hear the word violet? There’s the flower and the color. It’s a beautiful shade of purple isn’t it? You might see spring blossoms in your mind and you start to imagine what it would taste like.

Well, wouldn’t it be cool if you could taste what you see? Violet drinks have always been far and few in between in the States, but not anymore!

In 2007 the Rothman & Winter’s Crème de Violette made its way to the States from Austria. Then G. Miclo’s Liqueur de Violette popped up, by a French Alsatian distillery. Crème Yvette is back as well, a nice violet and berry liqueur made of dried violet petals, honey, orange peel, and of course, berries.

These are all good choices for a tasteful evening. Mmm.

Prince Harry Locks Himself in Nightclub Toilet To Escape Fans

by Walter Scott on Apr 29, 2010 06:42   1  Comments   Share

It’s not easy being royal these days, especially if you like to party. 25 year old Prince Harry, second son of Prince Charles and third-in-line to the British throne, recently had to lock himself in a bathroom at a club to escape his screaming girl fans!

The incident took place at the 1,500-capacity De Niros in Newmarket, Suffolk. Prince Harry was just having a boys’ night out at the club when his fans spotted him. He thought he was safe hiding from them in the bathroom, but he was wrong, despite wanting to keep a quiet life. Even while being locked, some of the fans still followed him, climbed up the side of the stall to get a better view. Then they took pictures of him with their camera phones.More...

A Nightclub For Dogs To Open in Manhattan

by Walter Scott on Apr 27, 2010 07:24   18  Comments   Share

Next time you go out, don’t forget about Fido! Manhattan is opening a nightclub for dogs. Yup, that’s right. Next time you go dance the night away, don’t forget about dropping off your dog at the Fetch Club.

This indoor dog park/canine club has everything your pet could ever imagine. There’s spa baths, homemade meals, mud masks and facials, a place for getting nails done, and a doggie disco. Ooh, la, la! Woof!

Owner Peter Balestrieri says the club is to not only take care of your dog, but to let it play and have fun. The club holds movie hour during the day and there’s a tiny treadmill as well. With so many fun activities, your doggy will not be bored for sure.

Now don’t get jealous because while the doggies are off chasing tennis balls or catching another showing of “101 Dalmatians,” you can use your iPad in the “human lounge”! You’ll get your work done while your pooch has plenty to do to stay occupied. Who could ask for better quality time with man’s best friend! Brings whole new meaning to “who let the dogs out?”
